Considering downgrading...

Hmm, this post has convinced me to hang onto my BFG 260 216 for a while longer, seems to be the best buy I've made for a long time. I also downgraded a while ago from 2 x 4870 in Xfire and while very fast, found I didn't need the power on offer. Incidentally, I also went from an e8400 @ 3.825ghz to an e6700 @ 3.2ghz and I didn't notice any drop in performance then either.
I'm itching to try summat new hardware wise, but I really don't see the need atm.:)

The only problem is on bootup I see nothing on my main screen until Vista is alive, I assume this is due to where I have plugged in the screens on the card?

The screen hooked into the bottom port (furthest from s-video if present) usually is the first display init'd.

Whether it displays BIOS on both screens in a multi monitor setup seems to be completely random, on some of mine it works fine on others it doesn't.

There's really nothing coming along this year which will require much above a single 4850.

Really, try to play crysis, STALKER Clear Sky, Cryostasis, farcry2, empire total war…..
A a single 4850 is only for call of duty, team fortress 2, left for dead, and even then not with good fps if you have max settings and 8xAA
