Considering going Conroe

Hi,

Im considering going Conroe soonish.
Is the E6300 (this week only) a good buy?
Im planning on overclocking it to at LEAST 2.4Ghz (but seeing as some are getting 3ghz with it, it would be worth pushing for more) useing a Sythe Ninja HSF.
Also is the memory thats also in this week only ( GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit) good for overclocking and general performance?

Ill be waiting out for better motherboards however (nforce 5 or the rd600 I think).

I don't think they are great deals. If your thinking about ordering now i would wait till your happy with the motherboard otherwise you'll lose money pay paying for 2 seperate postage and packaging costs.

The E6300 is a great CPU for the money, and the Geil PC6400 looks excellent, Gibbo is having a go at overclocking some today (keep an eye out for his results in the memory section). I saw an E6300 at 3.5ghz on here the other day, thats great bang for buck

I wouldn't bother ordering a CPU until you've found the motherboard that you want, I doubt the price will be much higher as time goes by (the "This Week Only Price" is only £3 cheaper than normal).
