considering move from bt to plusnet fttc

Honestly i don't know mate. It's not something they really covered but they usually tell everyone via a company wide email if anything changes which affects any customers any way and blocking ports or any ports never was mentioned. But personally i don't think they do. Are you accessing your webserver from the intranet or internet? As in using world wide web to access and upload files via FTP or are you doing this on your WAN? Intranet?

What was strange about issue, was I could access my own FTP locally, however if I accessed via another network (I tested using a laptop and my O2 phone) the FTP would stop working. I forget now, but the issue was either only in passive mode or active mode FTP.

Well he's already said the port was open on scans so it wasn't an ISP issue.

It was quite some time ago, I need to look into it again. I forget what one it was, but the FTP would work in either passive or active mode but not the other. What was odd is I was taking an FTP from a 3rd party for almost a year, then one day it stopped. Then when I tested there was this issue getting into the FTP server if I went via Plusnet.

I have to check everything again to refresh myself as it what happened, at the time there was a 2 page thread on Plusnet and no one could resolve anything. I was even checking windows server updates to see if one had someone knocked something out, I remember at the time taking all the firewalls off Windows server and my own Draytek, but it made no difference. In desperation I even moved FTP from the standard port on my Windows Server, and again I had the same issue with it working only in either passive mode or active mode.
