Interesting points by all of you. 
I will be going for a thicker case purely because i'd be using it every single day and when it's not in use, it will be in my bag along with other college things such as folders.
I had considered the 30Gb of course. I am currently using an old iHP20 iRiver...thingy, the non colour one, and i had run out of space long ago. The 60Gb would cater for my entire collection, plus any videos i wanted on there.
I do have my own set of headphones, i hate the iPod ones anyways. Bright white, "Look, i have an iPod, mug me!" type thingys.
