Hey everyone, I was considering selling my i7 rig and getting one of these

**removed link before tempban**

15" i7 2.2ghz, 4GB ram with a HD6750

How warm do they get whilst gaming?

Anything I should I know about before making a switch?

any reason for the switch ?

you can get the just of osx by spending half an hour on one in a store , its nothing too different from windows imo. ive never had problems with either. i imagine the macbooks going to get hot when gaming but im also guessing it wont be on your lap when gaming and would be more likely on a desk (for using mouse) therefore it wont be a problem.

I didnt realise OC sold any Apple stuff?

Best advice is go into a Store and mess about with one, and remember it will be at least 2 weeks before you start to get used to it and their will be a few frustrating moments finding things. And think about what comparible softwares you want for it.

I think the best thing to do is decide why you want to switch to OS X.

I made the switch two months ago and have not regretted it since. I love this MacBook and OS X is brilliant.

If you want to use it for gaming, then probably best sticking to Windows.

The reason for getting a Macbook is that I dont have the room for my massive gaming PC, monitor and desk. I want a laptop to carry work with me on motorbike and I also do graphic design. I'd rather buy a nice mac than a generic laptop. I've used mac before, just not as a main PC so I'm nervous about blowing £1800 on one. I've been blown away by its gaming performance though!

Just worried about it not being the right move, and then regretting selling my PC :(

I removed the link to a store that sells apple products, rather not have another temp ban. I know OCuk dont sell them, but they also dont sell motherboard trays, and I got temp banned for linking that product. Its not enough I've spent over £2500 in the last two years is it? :p

If you plan to game, then you will get a bit frustrated with the laptop. The graphics although good now, will be slow and not upgradable by next year. Within two years they will be out of date and new games will have your spec in the required, instead of beyond it.

For people who like playing the latest games and continue to play them at high settings, a MBP probably isn't the best thing for you. Windows has better performance and so you will be bootcamping often.
