Hey all,

Looking to dual boot XP and Vista next month, using Vista primarily with XP as a backup for any problems I run into. Now my only concern is the compatibility with Vista of software that I find essential. Below is a short list of apps that I find essential for running under XP and I was wondering if anyone had tested them under Vista and if so and had problems what alternatives you would recommend?

They are:

AVG Free Antivirus
Kerio Personal Firewall
RealVNC
Filezilla
Nero
Office 2003
AC3/Xvid/Divx codecs
Paint Shop Pro
Winamp
WinRAR
uTorrent
mIRC
Spybot

Obviously the gaming side of things I will leave up to XP for now.

Thanks for your help

Ahh right, see there's me and my MS made firewall scepticism :)

I'm behind a router too so if the Vista firewall is up to the task then I will give it a go
