Consistent low WiFi speed

Let's backtrack a little: EXACTLY which wifi protocols are you using? Which ones does the router support and which ones do your devices support?

From your picture your router supports 802.11ax, but do your devices?

iphone 12 should support 1200Mbps via ax (80Mhz channels, 2 spatial streams)

Pixel 6 should also be similar, as it supports AX and 6E via 2x2 Mimo

Presumably that is the technicolor?

What about the ASUS - that will have the most options.

Also whilst not the main point - do you actually need 500Mbps to your phone? The main selling point of fatter connections, is to be able to use multiple devices at the same time. If you are allowing every device uncontended access to all the bandwidth, then you are at the whim of the router as to how it deals with traffic shaping.

No this is my main Netgear Orbi Mesh. Asus has other options but still no joy there. I disabled all other devices and only had the phone as the device. Still the low speed, hence my curiosity.

As far as I am aware, both the Router and Pixel 6 support both

Mesh systems unless hardwired use half the bandwidth or something ridiculous just to talk to each other.

Sure. One satellite is hard wired but still the same result. Also, I tested within 2 meters distance from the Mesh Router. Moreover, my previous Virgin Media 350 service gave me almost 300 on the Pixel 6 phone.

Wow - surprised at how few options these devices have, lots of money for something you have so little control over, and then people wonder why we give mesh extenders a hard time here and normally just recommend Ubiquiti Unifi :)

Can't believe there aren't options to change channel width, configure band steering etc. or even offer separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSIDs

once connected on android you click on the SSID and should have "details" or something which states which band it is connected to, your current IP address, signal strength etc
Signal strength is "Excellent", Frequency is GHz Network type "WiFi 6,Transmit link speed "816 Mbps, Receive link speed "1200 Mbps.

I'm not asking which protocols are supported; I'm asking which ones are being used.
That's exactly what you asked

Do you have any Qos type features in place like bandwidth limiting etc. you've forgotten about setting

Which Orbi is it, so many variants.

Have you tried a factory reset of the Orbis?

Mine is RBR353. I have done factory setting. The other 2 routers have been factory set and give same 160/70ish result.

So they are Dual band devices, meaning the communications for mesh will be getting done through the same channels as the devices using it but should still be pretty fast on the main one but can be a significant drop.

Turn all Wifi hardware you have off, the extra satellites routers for mesh, the asus thing, any repeaters you might have forgetten about/not considered (Sky minis for example)

The enable the ONT and one master mesh node, what are the speeds then? Will be good to see the connected device connection page, you can use somwthing like Wifi analyser on android, to show the phones connected channel, channel width and Phy Rates.

Could it be an ISP signal issue? Can they disconnect / reconnect the supply? My ISP uses Zen platform.

Nope your ISP is good, you have proven that wired, it is your infrastructure setup that's gone screwy somewhere.

Yeah the Orbi won't let you change channel widths or band steering. Netgear like to leave that down to the device to handle. One of the reasons I ditched the Orbi and moved to the AX12 (more control). I think you can seperate out the SSIDs however, Netgear do not recommend it.

@wizard I'd personally ditch those 353's. As mentioned, they're dual-band so you'll be loosing bandwidth straight away (more if dasiy chained) and they only have 2 internal antennas so I can't imagine the signal strength or quality being very good for a detached house.

Was the VM connection using the Orbi too? Also stop testing 2 meters away, test it directly next to the main one. Turn off the other Orbi units so it's not reserving wireless bandwidth for keeping all the mesh units together.
