Console gaming with keyboard and mouse?

Oh please how am I anything worse than people that aren't capable to use the tools at their disposal? He's the one that offered it and when I called his bluff I didn't see him volunteer his information...

I really fail to see how someone can be that stupid that using a pad is so alien to them. Somehow they learnt to use a keyboard - this isn't some lofty ambition...

You're a bit sad mate :) I never personally insulted you but it's funny how you're attempting to do it :) I have preferences and I prefer playing with a mouse + keyboard. Guess you'll just have to deal with it.

It seems like you were doing more than calling his bluff. You'd try and report him in the hope that he does get banned if you had the chance, wouldn't you?
 
Well if you wouldn't and I take your word for it that you were just calling his bluff, then my original comment no longer stands.

However I do think you're taking it too seriously, especially considering there are various things that can give an advantage too outside of physical ability.
 
Frankly there's little reason to use such devices outside of a disability - being too lazy/inept just doesnt seem an acceptable answer.

How anyone thinks usage of thes devices doesn't give you an unfair advantage, while thinking their incapability is normal strikes me as just odd. Somehow the majority seems to cope...

The problem here is that you seem to think what you consider acceptable is important.
 
Looking at how accepted the gamepad is as a console input device I think its how the majority think is acceptable is far more important. Unless you think that's not the case?

I prefer many things (including using a kb+m for FPSes) but well aware how unlevel the playing field would be if I didn't use the standard input device. Its plain unfair and no way can you paint that other than your personal inability. Its your issue that you can't use something the vast majority can do...

But you're still asserting that your view is the correct one based on you disliking people using a keyboard and mouse on a console.

You're also inferring that anyone who isn't of the same opinion as yourself MUST be using a keyboard and mouse on their consoles to gain an unfair advantage.

I use my PS4 controller on my my PS4 fine, I won't bother with a keyboard and mouse. I do however use a console controller on my PC sometimes as it can be more convenient.

You're just taking this way too seriously. We're talking about video games, and activity you do for fun, and you're getting all overly serious about it.

I used a 360 pad to play FPS games on my old gaming PC, Far Cry 3 was the last one I think.

Just found it easier after being a console gamer for so long. There was a time around 10-15 years ago when it would have been KB and Mouse every time, but no longer.

I think you don't see the whole picture if his preference goes against the norm and would impact other peoples 'fun' as you put it then why shouldn't that be a concern that's voiced?

If its good enough for the majority what makes Grudas so 'special'? - ultimately that's a deficiency on his behalf - however he wants to spin it. No one says game pads are better - its just accepted that using them levels the playing field. It's not my opinion that kb+m disrupts that even if I considee your point that it isn't intentional its still the outcome...

Also please don't devalue gaming by somehow deciding that having a discussion about it is somehow too serious because the subject matter isn't important. Its a vile viewpoint....

guess I'm the minority then and prefer playing FPS games with m+kb configuration, how is that difficult to understand? I'm not attempting to gain advantage, I'm not attempting to cheat or w/e you wanna call it! I simply use my preferred peripherals to play the game?

You have no justification for calling other people's views "vile" you big drama Queen.

You keep asserting that his preference has to be validated somehow. It doesn't, it's simply a matter of fact that he prefers using a keyboard and mouse on his console.

It's not got anything to do with spinning or justifying, that's all in your mind. We're also not really having a conversation either, you're just telling people what they should and shouldn't do, what is and what isn't acceptable, and that they need good reason to do so, all over how they choose to control their games.

So yes you are being too serious, and are in fact devaluing gaming yourself with how petty you're acting.

That's such a stupid idea, my little sister cheated at cards last week. Did i phone the police about it? No i didn't. I called her a knob and moved on. It's a game, it's recreational. It's not serious enough to warrant the kind of vile mentality that would report a member on a forum (who i doubt has actually played against you) with the hopes of getting their console banned like some kind of petulant child.
 
Jesus some off the cuff remark - based on grudas' own goading and somehow I'm the bad guy - yet everyone's happy that his choices will affect other people he plays against because of his unfair advantage and ruin their 'fun' and all is good there?

At the end of the day I understand your preference but unfortunately it has some what I consider unavoidable consequences that affects people that you play against. I'm just of the opinion whatever your motives are, you are going to ruin the experience for other people purely based on the fact you don't want to use the gamepad.
