Console heat

Copper also requires its heat be dissipated very quick otherwise it'll end up heating the chip its supposed to be taking heat from! I could imagine the heatsink being made from it, but the consoles cooling would need to be very good to benefit from it. Alu with Copper pipes perhaps?

Yep I meant is the case (side/top) hotter than the vent or the other way round. Hot vent cool case = effective cooling, warm vent hot case = poor cooling, was what I was pointing at.

Ah right, well my Xbox360 and PS3 are both cool away from the vent. My 360 is slightly warmer, but that's expected seeing as there are more levels of stuff between the motherboard and the top of the case.

I'd be highly skeptical of that, if it's the case then Cell is one hell of a processor.

perhaps you mean 10% of the gpu?

The only thing the GPU is used is for the on screen render of proteins no actual calculation. I think the 10% thing is down to possibly the code not being quite optimized (yet) for running on all the SPUs, this has probably been increased with each version as im sure it seems to take less time on average to complete a WU. I think on the AV forum (not ocuk one) they have had PS3s folding constantly for the last 5 or 6 months 24/7 with no sign of a glitch

It can't be far off 100% as i can hear my fan getting slightly louder when Folding is running.

Also running a Blu-Ray movie kicks the crap out it.
