Sounds like an American snes pad. The American version looked quite different to the UK and JAP snes

I recon the Snes controller was one of the best and personally I like PS1 controller. Hated my Saturn controller though and didn't think much to Dreamcast one either!

Off a well known auction site, payed £35 for it, they were only available for Japanese members of Club Nintendo, for a limit time they were/are (?) able to trade in their club points for a new classic Wii controller that was an exact replica of a Super Famicom controller.
