Console Screen size ??

I use 37"

It would be fine but I'm short sighted and I hate wearing glasses so I have to sit really close to it or it loses all its detail. I wish I had a nice small HDTV :p

It's not like consoles can even reach 1080p never mind beyond that so having them on anything beyond 28" will make the picture quality look worse. I play my PS3 and 360 on 40" in my living room and my games all look like the res is set to low even though my consoles are set to 1080p. The res would likely look perfect on a screen 24 to 28 inch.

I think until consoles can actually displayed in 1080p they'll look crap on a TV beyond 32 inch. I think the only thing the 360 and PS3 can display in 1080p is HD-DVDs and BluRay movies.

I think it'll all be good next gen. I'm sure of it.

Never in my life have I noticed what you're talking about. 52" Bravia plus PS3 and 360. Both look fantastic, not stretched out low res?

Can I ask what games it is you feel this shows on? And what TV and size it is you've experienced it on.

You appear to be taking mind altering drugs.

I don't see what you guys are getting at, of course the image quality will look worse the bigger the screen? The resolution doesn't go up at the same time.

Edit: Well, not worse as such but the pixels will be bigger.

You have to take into account distance as well mind you.

I have a 26" in my living room, good size really and it was the best I could afford at the time. 32" would be nice, but 26" certainly isn't too small. For a larger room it'd be dwarfed, but for a smaller room it's absolutely fine.

I think most current gen actually run at less than 720p in a lot of games. Surly these consoles games look horribly pixalated on TVs over 40 inch

Got a Samsung series 6 37" at the end of my bed (against bedroom wall) which is also hooked up to my pc, 1080p is pretty sweet on it :)

maybe thats your problem. setting the console to 1080p will just make the console upscale most games to that res. upscaling can only look so good

try setting the console to 720p instead and see what happens (though i imagine if your tv is a 1080p set then that'll be doing the scaling instead)?
