So I have a couple of i5 pc's - one a desktop and one was pulling duty as a htpc.

I've just replaced the htpc with a tiny itx build in a Streacom case and that's running a 4770T low power i7 which is a great little chip.

So now I have two matx motherboards and 2 chips left over, both LGA1155 - so i'm taking the best bits from each and consolidating it down into the one machine and will sell on the spares on the MM.

The board i'm keeping is Maximus V Gene, the other one is a GA-Z77M-D3H which is nice enough but the choice is easy here.

I have 2 chips, a 2500k and a 3570k - I guess I should keep the 3570k here? I'm not a massive overclocker - i.e. I'll knock it upto 4 - 4.2 GHz and be happy with it.

Cheers, the deed is done.

Main rig now:
* Fortress 03 Case
* Enermax modu87+ 700W I think
* 2 * 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP
* Rampage V Gene motherboard
* i5 3570k @ 4.2 with Gelid Tranquilo
* 3 case fans, cant remember names but were the bees knees way back when. Bright yellow they are.
* Samsung 850 Evo 500GB
* 2 * 4TB WD Red
* 1 * 2TB WD Green
* 2 * 5770 in Crossfire (970 is getting RMAed)

Got some Soundblaster kicking about that I may put in when 970 comes back, but probably wont bother. Have a ton of spares left over. Maybe make a FreeNAS out of it.
