I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this problem, it's driving me nuts and I've ran out of options.

Basically, the pc is freezing and locking up every time im in a game. This is happening in BF2 and BFBC2. I've not had it happen in Far Cry 2... yet.
The pc locks up, with a buzzing/repetitive droning sound from the speakers. Only way to get back to Windows is to reset the pc.

I've:
Update GFX Drivers. (Even gone back to 10.5 with no luck)
Installed latest Chipset Drivers.
Cpu is @ stock.
Memtest shows no error.

Spec is i5-750, GSkill Ripjaw 4gb (F3-12800CL8-2GBRM), Kingston SSDNow V+, 700w OCZ StealthXStrem PSU, Ati Radeon HD5850.

Can anyone shed some light on this? EventViewer doesn't indicate anything :(

Mobo compatibility with the ram?Volts set correctly for the ram?
I have had ram pass memtest and fail in `normal windows use`
Just my 2p worth :)

i've had this.

i RMA'd the ram, it was corsair dominator, went with kingston hyper-x and it never happened again.

corsair returned the replacements in retail packaging, which went for full price on ebay.

result.

Run a check on the HDD? mine used to do this up untill 3 days ago when I replaced the HDD after a bad sector cropped up, used to do it all the time in Star Trek Online as well as at completley random points sometimes... might be worth running a check on your HDD

I can't find the correct settings for the RAM on the GSkill website. I haven't touched them in the BIOS though.
oh, sorry pal i just re-read that.
try a firmware update on that SSD and ensure windows 7 has the right driver for it.
Unfortunately Kingston have no firmware update for the SSD. It seems they have no firmware updates for any SSD from what I can see.

Thanks but I've used HDTune and no Bad Sectors cropped up. All ok.

I'm lost :(

Ah right it says: CL8-8-8-24 (Timings as you know) and 1.6v.
Not sure if the volts were set that high. Maybe it was AUTO? I'll check....
Oops, Motherboard = Gigabyte P55 UD3 Rev 1.0 :)

Could it be that the RAM is not being stressed enough during the usual computer tasks (Web browsing etc) but when under load, through gaming, the RAM is not receiving enough Volts and causes a system crash?

Try upping the ddr voltage to 1.6v or just a tad higher if it still crashes
If ram wants 1.6 and is only getting 1.5 this may be the cause
Also check the mobo ram compatibility in the manual or on the mobo website

Cheers :)
Mobo RAM Compatibillity doesn't specifically list my RAM but other GSkill. Can't expect them to list them all! Hope it's not a compatibility issue.
I'll up the volts and see whats what, as soon as I get W7 back on my SSD :(
