Somewhere, in a field in cheshire... alright!
Helllo all,

Been thinking about getting an SSD but dont want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on one so was thinking of getting the OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G) for Win7 and programs.

Is this the best to get in this price range? Any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

The Crucial 64GB C300 drive represents very good value at the moment. It's only just come out and OCUK don't stock it yet, but it's available direct (go via Quidco for extra 7% off).

If I'm recording guitar using ableton, would it be to my advantage to go for a drive with the highest write speed?

I shouldn't imagine it makes much difference, I doubt Ableton needs that much bandwidth.
All the 60GB SSD's will have roughly the same sustained write speeds anyway. That's limited by the fact they don't have many NAND chips so they can't get as much parallelism.

I've just seen this btw - Corsair R60 it's only £99.99. Good drive for that price.
