Hi guys, just thinking that i really need to consider getting contents insurance for our rented pad, we've been here for 2 years now and still haven't got any.

So can you recommend anyone that will do the following?
new for old
under £250 a year
accidental damage
insurance for stuff when away from the house

I was a satisfied customer of Saxon for 4 years at uni. Never had to claim but were useful when getting duplicate policies to be emailed or making changes. Paid around £50 a year and that even included laptop anywhere in the country. They do an online quote iirc.
 
i have a query regarding new for old though.

What happens for example if i drop my old ibook and it trashes the screen, it is only worth about £200 today, would i get that towards a new mac or would they get me a new one? Would they have to replace it with a apple or could they find just any old laptop for me?

Is there places I can ring to insure individual items for when im out and about?..from loss/stolen etc... for a certain amount per month? = Such as my new Macbook

What is the point in this thread. Pick up the phone and get some quotes tomorrow morning.

FWIW i pay £6pm with nationwide for fairly comprehensive cover on a detached 2 bed.
 
sorry i didn't realise i couldn't use this place to gauge opinions on things!!!

i was only asking as there seem to be 'some' people who have good knowledge on these things here, sorry for wasting your precious space!
