Continental Football **spoilers**

Cheers.

Yeh, they have no cover for LB and Valdes has'nt progressed from his early years as much as you would have thought, considering he's at Barce aswell.

They need a Left Back quite badly, with one out the current left back can't cope.

Valdes is a good keeper, but with a fairly average defense they need a much better shop stopper, his decision making was pretty poor.

Nah mate, I dont think he's good enough at all! He's a 3/4 spot player in la liga. Real are oozing with confidence now and i think Valdes might just bottle it!

Messi has just scored against Mallorca in the cup to make it 1-1, basically confirming Barca going through.

Amazing finish, chips the keeper where it would be easier to take it round him or just shoot.

Im not sure how much it is but Messi (like all La Liga players) will have a buyout clause in his contract. So if City meet that then there's nothing Barca can do.

yes there is, the contract clause just means they have to accept the offer. It neither means Messi has to go, nor does it mean Barca can't make their own offer to Messi to persaude him to stay. It just means they can talk to Messi officially.

But the reports are bull anyway, someone says City might want to buy Messi, it probably is true, but its true of almost every team in the world, well probably not Barca, paying themselves for a player they have is just silly. But its papers randomly naming some top player and linking them to whoevers richest. It happens all year every year, only the club linked changes now and then. For 3/4 years Chelsea have apparently wanted to buy just about every player whose ever played in any league ever, 99% of the rumours were bogus though.

Yeah but the player has to want to go doesn't he? Messi said today that if it were up to him he'd be at Barca for the rest of his career

Yes i know. My point was, Barca wouldn't be able to milk City for crazy money (even though his buyout clause is probably stupidly high) like Tummy said.

If Messi ever lost his brain and decided he wants to move to City then there's nothing Barca could do.

Yes they could milk it, The could say "you'll only get him at his buy out" which is 150 odd million, could be more.

Thats milking it, no player is worth anywhere near that much.

Did anyone see the Madraid derby? I only caught the last 40 minutes but it was amazing entertainment value! Still can't understand how it ended 1-1.

Yeh i watched it, was a great game. The Athletico goal was superb counter attacking football. Barce won, they needed that desperatley!

I thought Barca were over rated due to how poor the Spanish league is as a whole, but to be fair, when they pass it like they do, it doesn't matter who they're playing against it just looks impossible to stop them

"I think if Barca were in the Prem they'd finish 5th" = Tim Lovejoy.

I think way they're playing at the minute, they'd be first.

Barca aren't over rated, they're playing out of their skins at the moment, anyone who thinks other wise needs to watch them more.

The Spainish league is really good, it's very fast and more about technique.
The Premiership is faster, but less about technique, more about just brute force.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't say the Premiership is the best in the world, it's on of them, maybe on par with Spain. Just Sky are paying for the Premiership, so it has to be the best in the world to draw people in.

When Liverpool played Real Madrid, who aren't far behind Barca at all, it looked like Liverpool were playing a Sunday League team. Both games.

I think Barca miss Iniesta more than Messi. Its since he came back that they have started destroying teams again. Had a hand in every goal last night. Scored one assisted three.

Still think Chelsea will go through against them. Not as comfortably as some might thing, but I don't have any doubts that they will go through.
