It seems like there's another retro arcade company called continue arcades, I've never heard of them until they popped up on my FB timeline saying that they are opening a branch in Derby.

Main HQ page: www.continuearcades.com/

Looking forward to this when I go back to visit people...

Thanks for the heads up, will have to check it out, I’m only down the road

That is awesome, it is about an hour or so away from me. I usually go to the Pixel Bunker to get my arcade fix, but haven't been down for a few years now. I might check this place out once it opens.

I have been keeping an eye on them as they are local. They recently got the keys (31st May) and they are currently outfitting the place it looks like its going to be 2 floors. Looks pretty good to be fair. They are also open to suggestions for games etc. I am hoping its better than PixelBunker as i wasnt that impressed to be honest. We are off to Arcade Club in Bury again on the 4th July.

They have a facebook page Continue Arcades Derby.

From what I have heard nothing compares to the Bury arcade so the bar is very high! I haven't been to the Pixel Bunker in a few years, what were the main issues? I ask, as me and the other half were thinking of going soon :).

I thought it was pretty small and a bit expensive considering there is less than half the choice of Arcade Club in Bury, actually you could probably fit the whole of Pixelbunker in one of the floors at Bury. Didnt have a great array of games and some of them were not working, faulty or turned off/ The price is almost the same but you are limited to 3 hours where in Bury you can buy a ticket from 11am then turn up whenever and stay untill 11pm if you like. There is also plenty of onsite refreshments with a couple of bars and a snack place inside. Only thing better with PB was that there was more parking but it was loads more expensive.

I'd love to go to the Bury one, but it is a bit too far :(. I have found the Pixel Bunker to have a few broken cabs over the years, last time I went they had gotten rid of the Time Crisis 2 two player cab, I was gutted. I mainly go for the lightgun games, Bury looks like it has it all!

Yeah, it is very different. 17 Quid for 3 hour session isnt great especially with machines turned off or broken. That said there were a couple of the machines in Bury that had dodgy sticks/buttons.
