I'm never to sure where to post these threads. Basically I have weird problems playing back, DVDs, for example. They look very grainy and there is banding, basically it looks (especially around fog or cloud like I'm watching the film in a 16-bit colour mode).
Here is a screenshot from DieHard 2 (which I own on DVD)
and you can see how bad it is.

His jumper looks shiney, the texture on the glass behind him and on the wall are terrible.
Here is a ghosting of a moving bag in front of him, look at the back of the bag,

Stuff like skin colours as well just don't seem to be blended.
Now I have tried removing PowerDVD and Nvidia PureVideo Decoder, I have used FFDshow and set it via DirectShow Filter Manager as the priority filter. I have then tried re-installing the Nvidia Decoder and setting that as the first decoder to use, still no joy. I have even downloaded VLC player and it looks exactly the same.
Funnily, the print-screens look better than the image in the Movie Player applications.
Please does anyone have any thoughts?
