Season two starts 21st April on showcase, recently got the bluray of season 1 and have been rewatching the entire series, bluray sound is quite good. Although they didn't do such a great job on the advert cuts but barely noticable. Overall one of the best shows on TV at the moment IMO. The story is meaningful compared to most and not much cheese if any and fx is to a high standard. if you like SciFi future cops shows def watch the first season before 21st april. apparently scfi has picked up season 2 for airing in June, which is good news.

203 - realy good. I thought it was going on a tangent but i was wrong. Travis is like the most hardcore character ever. Another major twist and wtf moment. the internal conflict with the "bad guys" is just awesome and the progress of all chars is very well done. man i hope this gets more seasons. :D

205 - was a different pace altogether. First episode that didn't have the liberate play a main part in it. They got rid of the chief and will see what is left for that department in last night episode which ill watch when i get home.

Why doesn't alec tell that other guy from the future that he thinks that he is his dad o.O. Also looking forward to how they introduce "the agents" in to the story.

206 awesome episode. I knew that girl was working for liberate. I knew that from the first time she showed any interest.

Bringing in esher was well done, to be honest 10/10 for the writing and production.

Seems im the only one watching this from canadian broadcast :/ . Will watch it again when it goes to bluray in the off season. Hope it gets a third season at this rate.

Looks esher is one of the agents that the other guy, who might be alec's dad from the future (not sure how that works), but he said that there was other people frmo the future in that time and he called them agents. I am guessing but they went back to change the past to manipulate the future etc. That is why he is so rich and what appears powerful. Not sure on his agenda or how much he knows, they just cut the conversation short when kiera was talking to him. So don't know how much he knows and if he knows that alec will be rich, he seems to know a lot as he was obviously the guy that got to the new energy inventor that kellog was trying to invest with. I would say that he probably knows all about kiera and alec and is trying to manipulate the future to his advantage like the rest of the people.

I thought it was so dumb that kiera went down in to the basement, but i guess at the time it was fairly reasonable. But one thing i thought was the night vision on her CMR that was like a night vision from these days, i would have thought a night vision from 2077 would have improved significantly but first time ive seen something like that overlooked, but im probably just being ott. When she was trying to tell the partner cop guy that she was from the future, i was like, show him the gun and the tech... Then turns out end of ep he sees the gun and she tells all. :O glad in some ways that's out the way so they can now work together better etc.

yeah i found the whole her not showing him the suit or gun retarded as well. also thought it was dumb her chasing him into the basement, why not call for backup? even with all that tech doesn't give you an advantage on somebody else's home turf.

kellog seems to be taking things easy and partying, etc, rather than focusing on making money or a better future he could have easily made that guy sign up at the start by taking him to the lab, showing him around and then getting him signed up straight away but how was he to know a rival would appear? if it was me i would have wanted something that is going to be worth billions signed up straight away and wouldn't of let him out of my sight until the deal was done.

also it looks like this is one of those "looper" type shows, where it's a constant loop, as in kugami would never of went to prison if it wasn't for liberate yet he is the one who started/ran liberate, yet liberate are the ones who go into the past and make him go to prison in the first place. everything is in a loop, that is why he had to send kiera back as well as everyone else, to complete the loop.

show is lacking quality for me, but still worth a watch.

i just hope the ending isnt as obvious as i think it is going to be like the "looper" movie.

Could always be better but for a canadian production with the production at its current level (ie the amount they are spending on it), I think the quality is very high considering. I have not had many moments where I thought that was stupid decision or the character was acting dumb and the whole story in my opinion is just very interesting and could go anywhere. But end of day there is not much on tv worth watching these days so considering that its great to have at least something to watch every week. Hot girl, future tech, interesting time travel story and a corporations vs terrorists dichotomy that makes you wonder which side are the bad guys.

I think as soon as time travel is introduced to a story it leads to all sorts of writing problems and also inevitable creates a loop scenario, like how his dad some how thinks he came back from the past but doesn't know alec is his son. But maybe its possible that hes not his dad it was just the drug creating fake memory. But either way the loop scenario can not realy be avoided

There was one episode in season 2 where the main theme was a new type of drug that came someone from the future had brought back in time. Forgot the name of it now, but when you take it, you have a vivid dream. Alec took the drug because he wanted to see some hidden memories regarding his father. When he took it he saw an argument between his mom and his real dad from when he was a young boy and when his "real dad" turned around it was that guy who kiera met from the future who had been stuck in that time for 15 years. But we don't know if that is his real dad or just a fake memory from the drug. Plus we don't even know how relelvant it is, but it would make sense because apparently he never knew his dad but his dad was meant to be super intelligent and technical like that guy. But when they meet each other in a later episode they don't talk about it and the old guy doesn't seem to think he is his son, so the whole thing makes no sense. Its almost like the guy who he has met, has not gone back ni time yet and met alecs mom, that probably happens after the present if that make sense. ie the future occurs in the past or at a point later in time for the experience of that guy, he goes back in time and meets alecs mom and has alec then dies.

ep 207

I was completely wrong about alec new girl friend. I was surprised when she killed that guy, thought it was awesome. That guy i assume was also an agent possibly sent back by another group trying to change the future. The girl is working for esher not liberate as i thought.

I noticed how the old alec was watching the trial of his step brother in the future and was pleased that he was not released, which kind of indicates that he was interested in the outcome of what decision alec would make in the past. This kind of indicates that there is not a loop, but only one strain of time and that anything that happens in the 2012 will be seen by the future characters.

I don't think its loop based, too many things point to a linear time line, like back to the future and time cop. The most recent episode had alec sending back an insurance policy in garza, to kill him if he doesn't create a new future. Which points to a single time line again.

on break until 30th.

209 :D

What a brilliant episode. I like how the show leaves you wondering who are the bad guys. It is very well written. I think Julian realizes that the people around him are time travelers in this episode and that it was starts off liberate and that movement. Will be interesting to see how the season finale turns out.

season 2 finished :(

Season finale was excellent. Sucks i have to wait almost a year for season 3. :|

Any theories about the asian guy that has come back as a figment of that guys imagination. I am going with some kind of consciousness implant of some kind, some sort of brain upload in to his system. I hope its not a ghost that would just be dumb. But i can't see it being a ghost. Considering kiera had that holographic psychologist implant it would not be a far stretch to assume it is some kind of consciousness upload.

Now we know the freelancers are from even further in to the future than kiera was and they have been sent back to clean up the time travellers and try prevent them from changing history. But who sent them we don't know. Esher is clearly after technology that alec is going to invent and wants to take his place, it appears.

Last episode had so much going on. There was the first grineworthy moments in this last episode. When travis and sonya kissed and both groups of henchmen just followed them away. Thought was pretty cheesy, but first time that has happened so far. It is realy moving a long a lot faster now, that it was at the start of the season.

yea I was also blown away by the season finale. They did a realy good job. I will have to watch it again when it comes out on bluray in the off season to try and better understand that end part. So it turns out that escher is alecs dad, well he says he is, but the freelancers referred to escher as Sadler. Whats crazy though is how he sends his son back (jason) and a younger jason caused the incident in the future that sends them back. But obviously jason has had time in the glass prison at the freelancers as that is what he was so scared of. This means that jason has gone back in time at some point and been put in there before. But older alec said that he sent kiera back on purpose. I guess the whole thing starts with alec going in time. That is the first point in history timeline where someone went back in time and that changes everything. But then the freelancer talked about multiple timelines which further confuses the story. I don't know where this is going in season 3. Now carlos has left the police and joined liberate. The whole thing made kiera out to be the bad person. Why didn't the freelancers capture escher and put him in a prison? that must mean that escher has never time travelled, well i am not sure. The whole thing has got confusing.

I was very impressed with season 2.

Just a reminder Season 3 starts tonight in Canada and available tomorrow. Will replace my true detective now that's finished. So have walking dead and continuum monday nights :D

It's basically a scifi cop show.

I would say its more than a sci-fi cop show because that would indicate that there is no story arc but solving crimes. They do solve some crimes but they often have a larger story arc to them, they are either done by liberate or they are necessary part of character building and relate to her experiences in the future some way or another.

If season 3 is half as good as season 2 then it should be good.

season 2 spoiler:

Yes i was blown away by the first episode of season 3. I don't even know where to start with discussing it.

I can't believe the entire time line collapsed and that there are multiple timelines, so difficult to get my head around all that. Was done very well though. This series is shaping up to be a good one, that episode pretty much wiped the first two seasons off the map completely. Now its a whole new situation.
