So my helmet cam (for my bike) arrived the other day so after charging it up yesterday I thought I'd stick it to the dash of my shed and test it out as the bike hasn't been delivered yet. ::rolleyes:

This is some of the cretinous driving I see daily. (just a short excerpt) :D

Highly recommended camera!
I'm well chuffed with it for £205 quid.

Also if anyone has some guidance on using Windows live movie maker, it would be useful!
I'm used to the old movie maker where you had an audio time line you could edit and adjust volume settings on.
How do you do that on this new version. :( It seems like a kiddies version with little to no features at all. :(

I cant help thinking doing them from behind is going to yield the best video :D

Ahaha, I don't believe it. I work a few hundred yards down that road where the car pulled out of!

Thought I recognised that stretch of road :p

im just not seeing the full potential being used here at all :D

Should have rammed that swine in the blue jumper then done him up the bum :) that would have shown him whos boss!

@scuba That camera is ace and the sound is grand. Even picking up your voice and no road noise etc. How much was it?

@Coco great vid. Karting is so much fun. I was pleased to see how apologetic people are for simply nudging people, but then I believe it's not a cheap sport.

The drivers don't pick up the cost of any damage - they're apologetic as penalties are given for advantage by contact! :)

I've had my eye on the Contour HD cam as I've just got a ZX6R. How do you rate the mounts? and ease of use for that matter too.

I've been looking also at getting a cam. There seems to be a few out there that are trying to compete with the big daddy aka the GoPro HD. I think some of them come close, but even the ones that come close, like the contour, are still £200+. I'm looking at a solution that will cost <£25 and still provide fairly good vids hopefully.

Ahhh, OK. I thought this might have been the kind where you enter with your own kart, so people would be pretty pee'd off if you damaged some other guys. Guess not :)

Looks great fun. I've only been once.

Way too big and clunky for my liking.
I use GoPro HD Heroes for all of my productions because they perform so well visually although audio isn't great especially when it's in the waterproof housing. That said I always record separate audio anyway so no great loss.

They are good cams with great mounting options. I wouldn't say the GoPro is much less clunky and big though. Just a different form factor and arguably less aerodynamic. It does product great footage, but at £300 then I'd expect so.
I've been looking at a dirt cheap ebay chinese thing which I was going to make a thread on actually.

The Contour HD is £100 less than the Go pro as well... for the same image quality and frame rate.
No brainer really. :p
