With orange currently have the HTC hero which I bought last month. If I was to get an iphone can this be used without the simcard in it?

I prefer using the HTC to the iphone but can't ignore the amount of application and game support that the iphone has. This would be used more for the games and music instead of wasting the HTC hero battery.

Hi Sash,

You can use an iPhone without the SIM card in it, however this would make it more like an iPod touch. You wouldn't be able to make calls without the SIM however you should be able to use everything else.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. It will basically be using it for the apps to save my main phone draining quickly. I want to get this instead of the ipod touch so I can download using 3G while on the move (shove the simcard in to download then switch back to main phone once apps downloaded)

Cheers again :)
