Contract or Buy Outright?

I've had EE before on a work phone. IT was shocking, i seemed to get 3g most places (sometimes 4g) but i could barely make a phone most of the time. Used to use my personal phone.

Might pickup a three sim and see how i go.

Can't say I've had many problems with Three. I occasionally drop off the network and have to reboot my phone, but I'm pretty sure it's a handset issue - I've never really bothered investigating it. I went with Three because everyone rated them for data speeds etc. I hope they're the same with 4G...

I'm on sim only 30 day rolling contract with three. £12.90 a month, 200 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data :D

Had the sim a few years and looking round I'm definitely going to hold on to it. As far as three's networks goes, never had any major issues. Get 4G at home and other half's and it's great, faster than my fibre broadband.

Yeah that's what I'm currently on, but it's 3G only. I doubt they'd be willing to add 4G and a new sim to an obsolete plan for nothing...

As above, I thought everyone got 4g

When I changed my phone to a oneplus one I was able to use the 4g network without doing anything on my part.

4G is such a hassle for me I actually have my phone locked to. 3g
Round here 4G flicks on amd off, and a very poor 4G is worse than good 3g I find

Expensive phones work better on contract
Cheap phones (one plus etc) work out better on payg

I'm leaving 3 soon since they dropped any good price plan for 2gb users

Might be moving to Virgin as I don't use 4G

Grr to the people using 200gb! Don't blame you, but that stuff must really hurt the network. Can see why unlimited should be a premium price!

have any of you guys ever managed to get a discount or anything when being with the same company for years?
Iv been with orange for about 10 years and then went to EE when that switched over and I was wondering if anyone has been able to get a better deal because of this when your contract runs out. I remember when my contract ran out last year and I tried to get a better deal with EE but they wouldn't do it. When my contract once again runs out next year with EE I'm thinking that if they don't offer me a better deal for being with them for so long I might just try another company.

Always worth a go. Car insurance especially. I always threaten to go elsewhere. I'm on Three and currently paying £12.90 for AYCE data so I'll not need to thankfully :D

They used to give great deals, not so much now. Generally you can beat whatever they offer by shopping around, especially with quidco etc.

Stay away from Three please everyone. Don't want more cheapskates milking our shared mobile data as a fixed line connection.

Take it that was a pop at me then? as I already stated earlier I was inbetween home broadband connections, not exactly cheapskate either when it's £20 a month and most home broadbands are around that price or a tad more. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has used a lot of data on an unlimited tariff.

I also use a lot of data on my phone for various things.
