Can any body explain to me what the contrast ratio really means? and how some monitors have a huge 3000:1 yet others only 700:1 yet both are roughly the same price, and both regarded as good for gaming.
The ridiculously high ratio screens are using dynamic contrast where the image is processed by the monitor and it adjusts the contrast settings depending on the scene. This can create a rather annoying flickering during movies and is most irritating during games as it can put you right off.
As you might be able to tell, I'm not really a fan of it
