Hi, I see speedfan can change my the speed of my cpu fan very easily, and it also has an events thing available in options, that can tell me if my cpu is running too hot or whatever.
I was wondering if there is similar software out there that allows me to run my cooler at 50% speed but then lets me to set the fan speed when it reaches other higher temperatures?
I've tried doing this via my bios (has an option for the fan speed to work slowest until it hits 40/50/60c then work full speed) however the temps have to go way above the quoted number before it does kick in (its not fully reliable).
If there is some software out there, that on everytime i start windows it pops into my tray unnoticed then I would be very happy.

Speedfan is about the only thing I can find that has dynamic PWM control for the cpu fan. It doesn't have the step settings your looking for, but on mine it controls the fan automatically from 800rpm up to the 2000rpm maximum depending on the cpu temperature. All depending on where you set the target temperature.

by setting the desired tempreature for the sensor in the settings. its very easy to do:)

i just got annoyed with fan-speed control. speed up, slow down. it drove me nuts to the point where i just bought a bigger, quieter fan and run it at 100% all the time.
