Controller for fighing games

I have a 360 USB pad but find it a weird shape and much harder to use than when I remember using a PS1 or SNES pad for hours on end. After a short time it hurts my fingers

What would be the best pad / controller for fighting games such as street fighter? I read that the Sega Saturn USB pad is great but can only find cheap knock-offs and the original is supposedly $300+ if you can even find them.

Should I used use a PS1 pad and PS1 > Windows adapter like I used to years ago?

I have purchased a snes usb adapter and will use a trusty genuine snes pad

If you have bluetooth, use a PS3 pad.
Install the scpdriver and away you go.

If you're looking to get seriously into fighting games you should really get an arcade stick.

Alternatively, there are some decent Madcatz (I know, I know...) pads specifically designed for fighting games that you can get.

Stay away from madcatz fightpads very bad build quality mine broke first day 0 abuse opened it up and could see why the shoulder buttons are just 2 small microswitches glued on with a tiny bit of inadequate thin black foam glued on top.The build quality is poundland the only one to use is the ps3 pad it's the least bad D pad, in the long run much better to learn to play with a stick.
