Hi,

I have read that you can use a wireless XBOX 360 controller to act as a mouse and wondered if anyone has done this previously?

I recently moved the PC from the spare room onto a desk in the living room, but seeing as it is now so close to the TV I would like to be able to sit on the sofa and use the big TV to play certain games/watch films/browse the internet etc.

Basically, I'd like to be able to use the PC as a fancy console type thing.

I have bought a 10m HDMI cable and a wireless 360 pad and know that I need to use xpadder/joytokey to use the controller as a mouse. I have a wireless keyboard so that's not a problem.

Is there any other software/3rd party apps/mods/plugins etc I can use to make my Windows desktop more 'consolified' and easier to use with a controller? I have Win7 x64.

Also, does Windows 8 operate with a 360 controller, and does the new Steam Big Picture application work with a controller?

Cheers

Steam Big Picture is designed to be used with an xbox 360 controller.

Something like XBMC will do well for watching movies/playing music too.

No way, never even heard of XBMC! That seems exactly what I was looking for. Cheers. Anyone else got experience of this type of setup? Anything I should look out for?
