Converting AMD rig to Intel

Well you do have an unlocked card with higher clocks and shaders so it should be performing next to or higher than a gtx 570.


Have you tried the card at stock i.e. on it's original 6950 bios?

Yeah I tried the card stock and it was even worse performance. I think I just expected too much from the card tbh.
 
I used to play on high with my gtx 460 1gb though so effectively I've spent £130 quid after the sale of my 460 for a card that can only run it on the same settings. ATI drivers are whack, I get extreme flickering on distance objects in BF3 too, it happened with my 460 but not as bad.
 
there ain't no way your going to get a 'substantial' boost in BF3 going from a Phenom II to a 2500K since its so graphics bottlenecked, think your looking at the wrong weak link to be honest...the only thing that ever seems to make a difference in real-world BF3 gaming is the graphics card, so that is your problem.
