So,
i actually to find a female floppy to female power molex connector.
They don't seem to exist, so i guess i could just chop the male floppy connector off and solder the wires in to a regualr 4-pin power molex?
Doesn't 'seem' too hard, but anyone got any advice?

To avoid lengthy questions as to why........
i want to put a sata device (SS or ODD) where currently there is only a floppy connector, and there are no other spares molexes. Haven't got enough room to put too many different connectors so i guess the custom job should do it.

If I'm thinking what your describing then are you meaning 1 of these?

found on the auction site for 99p, search for 'molex connector to floppy'

Sadly no, cos that is a male floppy connector.
If that were female instead then it would be fine as there are both male and female molexes on the other end (i need female for both floppy and molex)

Thanks anyway :)

Again, sadly not. As i said in my op not enough room i'm afraid, as the molexes will be squished under where the drive will go.
I'd need a molex 'Y' splitter, which would then go to my drive cables, but there just isn't the room i'm afraid.

So you need a 4 pin 0.1" molex header to a hard drive style molex connector?

drop me an email and I will see if we have the bits in at work.

Aren't sata devices normally powered by sata power connectors? I have several dozen Molex to SATA cables which could be used if that is the case. A Quick cut and strip of cables and a bit of heatshrink would complete the job.

As for 4 pin header to male Molex..I can do that too if above doesn't work out.

Thanks fellas.
If you google for "New OEM Dell MX714 Floppy FDD to Sata Power cable" the bay in USA has one.

Gonna try splicing my own connector tomorrow. If I fail I'll let you know  and maybe you'll be able to help me out further.

Much gracias amigos.:D
