My current system is setup in a RAID 0 array using two 150GB Velociraptor drives I have a spare drive and have considered getting another and converting to RAID10.

I've read that I can clone my existing data and OS onto a spare drive, setup the RAID 10 and then transfer everything back onto the new array, I'll be using Acronis.

Will I notice any difference in perfomance i.e. Windows load time, games loading etc.

Is this the best way forward or are there other recommendations bearing in mind I want good performance and redundancy.

Thanks

There's no need to image or reinstall, the OP's board uses the ICH9R chipset which should support a direct migration from RAID0 to RAID10.

Mind you, I'd still make sure I had a decent backup before I started...

Do you know what, I've actually got myself 4 VRaptors now so I might just go for all 4 on a RAID 0 and enjoy 4X speed and do backups on an external HDD
