Converting photographs to digital

I have quite a few old holiday photos (with negatives) that I would like to convert to digital. I don't have enough to justify investing in my own scanning system, so I'd like to get them processed commercially. The images don't have to be particularly high quality, just comparable to a standard point-and-click compact digital camera.

Has anyone else here done this? Can anyone recommend a company or service? What sort of price should I expect?

Thanks!

You can get negative scanners starting around £50 and going up.

Costwise for a commercial company to do it you are looking between 10p and 50p per photo or negative, depending on the company. Can't recommend anyone specifically though.

I use my all-in-one printer/copier/scanner to digitalise my 35mm negatives and slides a few years ago.

Unfortunately I don't own a scanner, so I think it's going to be easiest to get them scanned professionally.

This is the kind of service I'm looking for. Cheaper than I expected too! Can anyone recommend a particular company?
