Convince me - tempted to buy gaming laptop

Then just get the best you can afford and enjoy it... the ASUS G751 is a great machine with a great screen and keyboard, runs quiet, and will last you a while.

Yup, I accept I am very lucky that electronics where I live are somewhat cheaper.

Hope my Mrs doesn't see this thread, she would have me getting rid of my big desktop in favour of a nice sleek laptop so she could get more living room space back

I have a 14" Alienware with an i7 and a GTX765m. I travel a lot and love to game hence why I bought a 'gaming' laptop. I only went Alienware because I got a big enough discount for it to be cheaper than the alternative ASUS/MSI etc at that time.

I have never had ANY problems gaming on a laptop, I have a small laptop cooler that lifts it off the desk and blows air where I want it to. On idle I get around 35-50oc and recently when gaming on Total War:Attila it stays around 70-80oc (still cool enough).

If you are happy paying more for the ability to take it with you and save room then a gaming laptop is fine.
