Good cheap snack, don't need the bacon. But you do need some mushrooms in there.

Why do we need stupid threads like this all the time? If it's actually a decent dish then post it but for goodness sake, people will be posting how to butter bread next.

And before you start saying why click the thread then, I thought it was going to be something worthwhile.

Onions need cooking long and slow with a browning at the end to make them worthwhile eating like that imo, although that makes it a bit more hassle. Of course you could add some bacon, garlic, get some pasta on the go, mix an egg yolk, parmesan and parsley with the pasta and then coat with the onions/garlic and you have a very nice carbonara for not much more effort
