Cooking bacon...in a microwave?

I did it in college, 3 mins flip it then another 3 mins, gets nice and crispy but nothing like the real thing.

My dad does this, he reckons it tastes the same.

It doesn't

Yeah it's awful plus it looks bad and goes all flubber like. It's horrid. Microwaved food really has put me off. Oven and/or grill = win.

I know you can buy microwavable bacon but to me anything microwaved is inferior in taste...

Well not "anything". Beans or soup taste no different from the microwave than from your hob and I personally wouldn't bother with a pan (and the burning and cleaning that comes with it) for something liked scrambles eggs either, which taste pretty much the same however you cook it.

Buy a better pan

I almost agreed with you until I saw the eggs thing. It always seems to be too easy to overcook the eggs in the icrowave.

I have to say I was dubious about the bacon thing, however, the pictures shown seems to have it coming out crispy. I'd have no problem with this. If you're happy to grill instead of frying then I don't see why you wouldn't at least try microwaving. I've been to plenty of greasy spoons that use too much oil in the pan anyway and the bacon doesn't even come out crispy. Now that is disgusting bacon!

One of the roll/sandwich shops near to the office does this, it's ******* boaking.

Pre-cooked, pale looking with barely cooked fat, shoved in the microwave (for a second time?) and plonked on a roll.

I do not understand why people eat/buy it.

Tramps.

I only do scrambled eggs in the microwave I might add. The first blast can be a minute, then a good scrambling and then 20 seconds bursts until you reach your preferred consistency.

I also add double cream to mine before microwaving which probably helps in slowing down the cooking process.
