Cooking on gas - without a gas supply

What's the best way to go about this? I'm utterly sick of cooking on electric hobs, and the house I'm going to be moving into soon also lacks a gas supply. So my plan is to buy a set of gas hobs and hook them up to a large gas cannister, which I'll keep in a cupboard and drill a hole for the tube to feed through.

So where can I buy a gas hob I can do this with? Also, what's the best sort of gas to use? Will camping gas do, or will I need some other kind?

We have a gas cooker with 6 burners which runs from two canisters outside. Obviously you only need the one, but it automatically switches over to the second once the first canister runs out. Pretty cheap as well. The two last about a year and a half and I think its about £40 a bottle.

We are the same, it is pretty cheap. Cheaper that the oil fired central heating anyway.

Oooh that's pretty good, I thought doing it this way would be pretty expensive. But it sounds like it's pretty cheap.

We have canisters which are this size http://www.wheresmymammoth.com/projects/properfurnace/img/1.jpg

Although I'm pretty sure you can get them in various sized. I've seen ones half that size when collecting my new bottles. Im pretty sure they would legally have to be kept outside though. I wouldn't want to risk having them inside my house anyway.

I had it installed by a local Independent gas fitter. This was about 5 years ago.
