Cooking on gas - without a gas supply

my parents house which they bought in 1985 had no gas, the heating was run off oil. I remeber british gas coming round digging up the front garden looking for the gas pipe. Turns out it was in the back garden. We have an electric hob here and i hate it, can't beat a gas hob.

Man I feel the pain of cooking on an electric hob. It's just not practical at all for temperature control. Only way you will ever cook a decent meal is on gas.

Shocking, god knows how much electric heating must cost them.

Thats the problem living in the countryside in nice places.

Plus points:

I have 6 acres of land and a view over the Tees Valley and river.

Downside:

Haven;t got gas and never will

However we have oil fired central heating but that now costs a forture. But we have a wood burning stove and trees are free since I have my own wood ;)

gas is useless. Electric hobs are far superior, perfect instant constant heat at your fingertips. No naked flames and Gas is rubbish for controlling the temperature.

Long live electricity.

oh and don't even get me started on Gas barbeques. Vile things.

Go for an induction hob, It's awesome. As instant as Gas, but far more clever.

My in-laws have LPG cylinders for their cooking as they're out in the sticks

Are you confusing electric element hobs with induction hobs?

Electric element hobs take ages to heat up and cool down...

The trouble is that electric hobs don't deliver instant heat which is highly controllable but gas does. Do you cook much?

Come let’s get you started on why gas barbecues are vile?
