Just out of intrest, what oil do you use?

I normally use vegetable or sunflower oil with curry etc. Olive oil makes everything go green and tastes a bit funny. Should use ghee but I don't cook enough asian food to merit having it in the fridge

20W50 in the car though, it's ooooold and needs the thickest £3.99 gloop I can get

Gobi Alloo for me tonight, which i dont mind as its one of my fave veggie dishes around. Copious amounts of red and green chillies...enough to make me call first dibs on the toilet.

Nah my mom uses vegetable oil aswell, I think other asians here do also.

Seriously if you aint indian/pakistani then i suggest for the love of god do not try to cook asian food...you will only fail and fail terribly at it.

I can only imagine what italians think of what we do to spag bol too

Groundnut oil is especially good with Thai/chinese cooking, it has a few more calories than other oil, but who cares

doesnt have to be just use very little or no chilli

Yup, leave the chilli out and it won't be spicy, just savoury
