While were on it then heres a GOOD bolognaise - created from the random "so, what have we got in the fridge/cupboard" type moments - these have always resulted in experiementation and awesome food as a result:
1) as much mince as you want - couple of pounds (as in lb) works
2) good sized onion
3) good splash of worcester sauce/hendersons relish
4) oxo cube
5) Thyme (good 5 finger pinch of)
6) chill/cayene powder (small pinch of)
7) salt (taylor to personal tastes - but teaspoon worth probably about right)
8) 1/3 small jar of tomato pesto
9) tin of chopped tomatoes
10) good amount of garlic paste/salts/pressed garlic
11) half a small cup of water (obviously vary with amount of mince)
rough cut the onions down to fairly fine chunks and start softening in large pan with a little oil. Add and brown the mince, add the tomatoes, give it a stir, throw in the rest, keep it moving for 5/10 mins then turn the heat right down. Add the water, stir again then leave for about 20 mins, stiring occasionally.
Kill the heat and sort the pasta to go with, as pastas getting close heat the mince etc back up.
Seriously tastey
