Cooking with Raymond (Italian) - Flamed Pepper/Mozzarella/tomato salad + Pancetta/Liver/Mushroom Tag

Lol. This is the first time there have been decent pics in a food thread and people are moaning! The DOF isn't too narrow, the food is perfectly in focus and you can see what it is so thumbs up!

That looks good Raymond. Haven't cooked liver before so I may give it a go sometime.

Looks great. My only reservation is the coriander (I know you said that or parsley. I think its too strong for a pasta dish and more suited to Asian dishes. I would try basil instead.

Oh and I like the dof blur as it allows you to focus on the particular subject being mentioned per step.

mmm.... mmm.... mmm.

A quick simple recipe and looks tasty.

Well I'm not going to get into an argument about it, it's just my opinion, but I think those pictures are really suffering because of your overuse of dof blur. Although I don't seem to be the only one that thinks so. Pictures 4 and 5 are diabolical. I'm not trying to offend, just give some constructive criticism.

Tell that to David Loftus :p

Looks tasty Raymond, nice and fresh.

Absolutely stunning as usual (food and pictures) not sure why people are getting in a huff. if I had the equipment and more importantly the kmowledge that's how I would take pictures. It is the food which is important and doing it that way makes the food stand out and be vibrant.
Also great to see some of the cheaper rarely used cuts being used.

Because it's just a blatant but clever way to get away with pimping his photography in GD, a valuable exercise given the number of people wandering through here.

The photos are nice but the depth of field usage is just excessive.
