Cooking with Russ: Stuffed chicken and sautéed potatoes

Outstanding work. What did you do to the pics. They look well altered.

Although looks a bit dry a touch of cream sauce would finish it off a treat.

Good work - so many of these "cooking with..." threads might taste alright, but look rubbish. Presentation there is very good, and nice pics! :D

Wow thanks for all the comments guys/gals. Glad you like! Thought it'd just be easier to make one big image and it turned out well!

I hope it's inspired some cooking in way or another :p.

what sort of cheese did you use?

As guessed, just regular mature cheddar! Use whatever you like.

Might do this tomorrow, without the bacon of course. :p

What?! Are you crazy?!;)

You caught me... I did do some PP (although it is kind of obvious too), but only brightness and contrast. Just for reference this is straight out the camera (resized):

It's not actually too dry because the foil keeps most of the water/oil from the chicken in which I then poured over the top. I usually put a bit of chilli sauce over it all too but didn't fancy it that night, but yeah, do what you want to it really. It's not a fixed recipe!

Think I will try this on Sunday with the girlfriend :)

Usually the 'cooking with' threads, have several parts I don't like but that whole dish looks pretty amazing! :D

Oh and what cheese were you using? Any cheeses that you recommend not to use or are any fair game?

Do you not parboil the potatoes first? In the past when I have fried them raw the texture isn't so good.

I did, just for 5 minutes. Be careful though, done smething silimar and didn't drain them properly the other night - nearly lost my eyebrows :D

Yes that is a filleting knife, I like it and yes it is very early. Skipped lunch and going out in a little bit (friends 21st!).
