now, back on topic... is there anything i can use in my water cooling system that will not conduct an electricle current, just in case of a leak ???

I used some Royal Purple Radiator Coolant in mine - its designed for racing cars, but it also has the same effect in a WC loop - it enhances the cooling ability of the water and stops corrosion/algae growth.

de-ionised water + water wetter is all you need.

antifreeze is only used to provide protection from rust, to increase boiling point and lower the freezing point.

in pc water cooling no need to add additives to increase boiling point above 100c. simple common sense on this one. and no need to provide protection for subzero temps unless your in the antartic.

water wetter is the only additive that should be used in pc water cooling if your after maximum performance.

I think what he's asking for is something like Fluid XP+

FluidXP+

Completely non-conductive, theoretically you could submerse your kit in it and there'd be no ill effects. It is quite expensive, but if you're after the piece of mind that a leak won't fry your system then this is for you... or:

Oil PC

Can't resist another oil-pc :D
Good old fashioned Vegetable oil is fine - this guy even found a way to include his Hard drives in the 'goo'

I'm not using any additives in my system.

Been about a year since I last drained and re-filled the system with a bottle of de-ionised (battery top-up fluid) water that I bought from Halfrauds.

System is running 24/7 and the pipes and plastic cover on my DD Maze 4 waterblock are still nice and clean.

I may well be wrong... *shrug* it made sense when i heard it... i'm using distiled with waterwetter an a UV green additive. it's holing up just fine, and looks awesome too :D

WoW, I see that this thread is still alive :p

I did some research on zerex and found a lot of people saying that its better than water wetter in terms of thermal and anti-corrosion properties when used with distilled water.

Got to say, keep it up guys as its feels good to have better knowledge and understanding :D

Many thanks to all. ;)

there isnt much difference between zerex and water wetter at all to be honest, its all rubbish both do there job. Only difference you will find is that water wetter smells like the devils love juice! its horrible dont get it on your hands :) p.s i use zerex but have used water wetter also pends which i can get cheapest

9.5, but at least it doesnt say if you consume this item you may die! like zerex does

Knew I should have read the instructions before syphoning my system dry - still, no ill effects yet - still, no ill effects yet - still, no ill effects yet :p

What's the best additive to get from real shops on the street? I need to buy some distilled water on the way home, but I'm worried about fungus and corrosion and stuff.
