Corsair Hydro H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler
CoolIT Eco A.L.C. 120mm CPU Watercooler
Corsair Hydro H70 High-Performance CPU WaterCooler

pros and cons i guess. want a decent cooler, but dont want to spend more if i dont need to.
cheers.

Grab a high end air cooler instead, the performance of the h50/h70's are very poor and nothing like the temps you would get on a custom built water system, which is obvious tbh, and they are barely as good as high end air.

+1

The all-in-one liquid coolers are fun, but in terms of cooling performance they perform worse than high-end air coolers, often are much louder (due to pump noise as well as high speed fans forcing air through thick, restricted radiators) and cost more.

Something like this would be a very good alternative to a sealed liquid cooler.

If you want a monster, then have a look at this.

Your ram is low profile so I'd take advantage of that and get the silver arrow, it comes with two x ty-14 fans which are superb and easily worth £10 each.
The silver arrow is superb value just make sure 160mm height coolers fit in your case.

the northbridge HSF is in the way so i dont think it will fit :( any ideas, looks like this case/mobo combination limits space. a lot of the ones suggested are out of stock also, and with the NB HSF being where it is.

WHy the D14 ? the silver arrow is better and cheaper with better fans.

If you don't feel like getting a new case just get an H50.

decided to go for the Coolmaster HAF 912 Plus and the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler as i was on a tightish budget and i thought this would give me the best options all round.
the gigabyte case i have allows no cable managment at all so airflow is at a minimum anyways, so hopfully the new case and cooler will help. it then gives me more upgrade options in the future should i need it.
thanks for all your advice, i understand now that maybe i was missunderstanding the prebuilt watercooler systems, i assumed they would be quiet and drop temps dramastically.
