I fancy the neww Asus M3A32-MVP (AM2+) motherboard with one of the faster AMD dual core CPUs (maybe the 6400+ black box one). The idea is that in future I can drop in one of the upcoming quad cores when their price comes down.
Question is, which cooler? I'm concerned as the AM2+ boards seem to have more pipe work on them then the gasworks my old man used to work in. Is there likely to be an issue with fitting a CPU cooler on one of these new boards (i.e. is there a risk it won't fit)? Which cooler will do the job but is reasonably compact?
I scanned a few reviews but they refer to older, cooler (less hot) processors (4200+ and the like). Any advice appreciated.
