hi guys, just received a arctic cooler 64 pro,and now i've got it on i've noticed the heatsink doesn't cover 100% of the cpu,you can still see the edge of the cpu,its only a couple of mm but is this normal?,as i would have thought it would have to cover all of the cpu like my old one,the cooler is on a skt 754 3000+ cpu,it is listed as an exceptable cooler for cpu but are the 939 cpu's slightly smaller??

any help

As long a sit coveres the core of the CPU then ya okay. Thats where the die is that get uber hot.

I just fitted a RBX to my P4 and i can see and toch the edges and it's fine.

Not sure how it'll be when i fit to my Yonha as i got the Aopen bord coming that has the socket at a 45 deg angle

cheers guys, temps seem ok and i've just had to re-install windows as i took the cpu out to clean it properly and then windows wouldn't boot properly.it said i had changed the cpu!?! is this normal??

Yes but you didn't need to reinstall windows, you just needed to go into the BIOS, save and exit and it'd save the new CPU settings.
