Cooler question.

Hi guys, just need a little help please. Ive just got someones PC to look at. He said it kept randomly turning off. I quickly found the problem to be the cooler which was loose !!. So after removing the cooler underneath I find the actual plastic was taped around the screws to keep the cooler in place using black masking tape... So yeah ive never seen anything quite like this botch job. The lad who owns the system says he has no idea why its like that. So anyway clearly I need to replace the cooler and I am not quite sure which cooler to replace it with.
The system is an old HP P6000 and the motherboard is a Pegatron IPIEL-LA3. I have never heard of Pegatron and only got the name from the IPIEL LA3 which is on the board. So guys which cooler is best to add to this ancient system, prefarably a cooler that can go in without removal of the board. I don't want to find more botch jobs in there ! haha

If its this, any lga 775 should fit.

Right ok thanks. I do have another cooler on another old board and again I have no idea if its usable and I could fit it. That board is an Asus Socket 940. So that is never gonna fit is it? The board is MZV-MX and its dead, but the cooler i still have. So i guess its just buy a cheap socket 775 cooler then is it.

Edit - Ive just spoken to the fella and hes told me the only other person to fix his pc was Curry's !!. So they where the ones who tried keeping his cooler inplace with masking tape, disgusting. And that's why buying from a place like that is just wrong.

Ok he doesnt want to spend too much on a cooler but i explained how poor stock coolers are. I was looking at this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-093-AK does any one know if this is ok? thanks

What do you think guys? i want to order something tonight, theres not much room in his little case so im really unsure.

That should work ok, assuming the motherboard does not use any special mount holes - I think Dell did on some of their systems.

Well tbh RJC there does seem to be very little room, so I might need something that uses a higher bracket, do you think that one will be ok to solve that mate?

I ordered him an Arctic cooling Alpline 11 Pro rev 2 which is also for socket 775, but again it might not fit, Will find out monday

I got the arctic cooling alpine 11 pro and the push pins don't fit into the motherboard so will have to return it. So can someone tell me a cooler that will 100 percent fit please. The 4 holes on his mobo are really small, so i need a cooler that will fit into that.
