Its a sad day im looking to replace my noctua nh-d14 as its a pain in the "$%^ to carryout any mods/maintenance on my benfixprodigy.
i will be selling it thus looking to spend about 60 quid on a replacement.

The replacement must be smaller and quiet and allow overclocking. Im open to clc but there is a lot to choose from any recommendations would be welcome.:(

In your price range is the Corsair H60 and Antec Kuhler 620, that'd be my choice of CLC's.

Its tricky to find an air cooler which is good but also smaller than the d14. The only one I can think of is the megahalems, thatd be my choice. :)

Your probably right as its a fantastic cooler.
Its just really awkward/tight fit in a benefix prodigy.
I have to remove the gpu to reseat it and cant see the ram selfcheck led on mobo
Have seen pics of the big twin towers in Prodigy. Definitely fills it up.

You do know if you want to play with your components you shouldn't be using such a small case... get a Lian Li PC-T60B and everything will be out in the open. :D

Air coolers are awesome. Though what ever one you get there will Amway be a big block of metal there, probably hanging over your RAM too..

Sounds like you need a CLC. Shame...

You won't find a smaller cooler with the same performance as the NH-D14. The Macho is massive as well. But what sort of mods and maintenance do you do for it to become a problem? Furthermore, removing the NH-D14 should be relatively easy, especially when compared to the competition (SilverArrow, Dark Rock Pro 2).

You'll have to go AIO water, and possibly spend more (H80i). If you want to spend a little less, maybe the H60 (Wasser / Corsair / OcUK versions).

It blocks the fan headers, memok switch + dram led. you have to remove the whole cooler to replace the rear fan and to get to sata ports. Due to the size of it you can only remove/fit it from the right hand side of the case.

i was thinking of the h60/70 or a zalman lq310 and putting the radiator at the front of the case?
This would leave good access to the mobo

That looks like my old stanley toolbox lol.

Indeed. LOL But Stanley toolbox is more functional.

T60B base is so small they had to add a back leg so heavy coolers and GPU it doesn't fall over backwards. Those massive sides and top crossbar/handle look like they would get in the way when playing with things too. :D

To be fair, to keep a 2500K at 4.4GHz, you don't really need a NH-D14. If you want a really small cooler that will do the job, look into the Phantek PH-TC12DX. Hell, I used a Thermalright MUX-120 for similar levels on a 2500K and it worked fine (62-65C). Loads of small mid-range tower coolers will perform (Xigmatek Dark Night, Hyper 412...).

Is the ocuk h60 the same as corsair h60? If so is it the 2013 version as I have some spare fans that I could put on it?

It's the older H60, not the H60 V2. They are both ASETEK OEMs, one is branded and distributed by Corsair, the other isn't. You can put any 120mm fan you want on these. IMO worth a punt, but performance-wise, not much better than a £40 air cooler.

CLC coolers are more complicated so more things to go wrong.. Mainly potential pump problems.

That's not the OP's major concern though, as he wants a clear line of sight to his motherboard and RAM.

Though you font raise a fair point, the pumps can be noisey, this is not the case for a lot of the units though.
