I own a Coolermaster ATC 110 case like this one:

atcs1101gb2.jpg

It has the following fan layout:
Dual 80 mm x 8 mm x 25 mm Fan attached front panel.(in)
One 80 mm x 80 mm x 25 mm Fan attached back panel.(out)
One 80 mm x 80 mm x 25 mm Fan attached top panel.(out)

The fans that came with the case are very noisy(Mixture of Papst and Titans) and I would like to change them for good quality quite ones.

Any recommendations?

Many thanks

I don't know if people agree with me, but I have akasa ambers (80mm and 120 mm) and both kinds are almost silent. So I would buy those, but saying this I have little experience with other makes.

Akasa ambers are not very good in the 80mm size.

Nexus 80mms or Panaflo 80mm are your best choices.

Nexus 80mm is the quietest 80mm fan around really.
Its sadly not a yate loon like the 120mm versions so you can't get unbranded ones cheap.
It doesn't move much air however, and while it moves the most air of any fan at that noise level, its still not much. So unless you really want fans that you can't hear, there's probably a better fan that can deliver more airflow for a little more noise.

Have a look at spcrs first 80mm fan roundup.

From my personal experience i've compared a zalman 80mm to a nexus 80mm and i recommend you get the zalman unless you want absolute silence. It has higher airflow than the nexus and the noise isn't that much higher. With the supplied resistor i could hardly tell the difference between the two.

ALL Nexus fans are yate-loons, and come in sizes from around 30mm to massive ;)

80mm Yate-Loons pwn (run em in my PC-6077 :) )
No, the 80mm nexus fans are made by Bisonic.
Heres the spcr review of it.

Not all yate loon fans are quiet, they are a massive fan manufacturer and make all sorts of fans. Nexus don't make any fans other than 120mm, 92mm and 80mm.

Edit: Ahh i see your edit.

in that case watch yourself :p i got a few bisonic fans from local electronics retailer and they are crap :o
They are a massive fan manufacturer, just like yate loon, they make hundreds of different types of fans. Because one of them you bought was rubbish means they all are? I think not.
Were those fans from your local electronics retailer designed to be quiet or cheap? i suspect cheap.
The 80mm low speed ones that nexus buy from them are the quietest there are.

Are all the sl series as good as the 120mm ones? I'd really like to get hold of a 38mm thick one and see if it gives better airflow than the standard one with the same low noise level but you can't get em anywhere.

Yes love. :o

I'll check and see if i can get hold of the 38mm deep ones, what specific model is it ?
Are you able to get any yate loon at will?

D12SM-12D

Just going by the theory that the extra depth = more airflow i'm hoping that will have the same bearings as the standard ones and if undervolted enough will give the same low noise.

Currently using a 38mm panaflo and it does move more air than a 25mm one at the same speed i reckon, but it clicks really badly so i can only use it on the lowest voltage possible.

Ta. :)

Did you use my trust email? If not can you, as the other one takes ages to forward.

Edit: Recieved.

Best 80mm: NoiseBlocker BlackSilent, Sharkoon SilentEagle, Nexus. These all have sleeve bearings, which aren’t best suited to anything but vertical mounting. For the top fan you’re better off with a ball bearing or hybrid bearing fan, which aren’t as quiet: AcoustiFan Dustproof, Akasa Amber (1800rpm version). There’s a new FDB bearing Scythe, the Kama Flow (SA0825FDB12SL) which according to SPCR is as good as the best sleeve bearing fans, but it’s not available in the UK yet. Be sure to use rubber isolating sticks to mount your fans ;)
