Hi guys,

I just bought the asus maximus extreme, fitted with supremefx sound card, and coolermaster stacker 830.

Can anyone give me a clue how to connect the front audio (headset) connection to mobo.

I connected the HD audio to the back of the soundcard, but i can't hear anything.

In the bios, the front panel setting is set to HD.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried the Coolermaster forums? I have a Stacker 830 but don't use the front sound connections so I haven't a clue about the connections.

Hi, I tried asking on this question on the CM forum and Asus forums too. But still no one was able to answer my question.

So maybe if I rephrase it someone might get back to me.

The audio panel at the front panel of CM stacker 830, where should they be connected? To the motherboard or the sound card? BTW I replaced the onboard sound card and fitted a Creative Xfi extreme music.

The front audio panel connections of the chassis are 7 pin HD audio/ AC'97 and azalia connectors. Any ideas?

If you've fitted a PCI sound card then I think that the onboard sound should be disabled in the bios and the front panel connected to the creative x-fi.

Hi thanks for your reply,

Do you know where and what to connect to the sound card. The sound card manual doesn't give much details, actually it doesn't give any.

Sorry, I didn't realise that the sound card that comes with that mobo was a pci-e one.

If I was you I'd try just having one of the two cards installed to prevent confusion. Then start by getting that card to produce some sound at all!

Also it looks like you have to have the X-Fi I/O Drive to have front panel connection with the x-fi card. Someone with more experience with this card may be able to clarify this?

Did you look on the Asus sound card for front panel connections?

Hi, I removed the sound card that came with the mobo and disabled it from the bios. I connected the azalia connectors to the ADH on the mobo, but there where more pins available on the motherboard than connectors from the chassis. So I connected the pins according to the diagram that came with the Chassis.

All I heard was electrical noise no sounds.

Also it looks like you have to have the X-Fi I/O Drive to have front panel connection with the x-fi card.

If thats the case then I will have to buy the creative amplifier. Which I think is the case.

To use the front panel connections on the mobo itself you need to be using the asus supplied sound card.
