I am I right thinking it's the MSI Twin Frozr3?
how about the 2 below?
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition"
HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X PLUS Edition

what is support like from HIS and Sapphire?
cheers

Hi there, I have seen a few reviews in my time, and the HIS seems very good indeed and also benfits from exhausting the used hot air out the back. Video reviews from the likes of 3Dgameman or OC3d TV will show the noise levels etc.

I have the twin frozr 3 so any question then fire away

what temps are you getting and what res? running nice a quiet?

JUST DONE THESE NOW FOR YOU

1920x1080
well ambient in my room is around 24C card is idling at 36C , 40% fan (inaudible noise level)

Performance temps. (using the performance fan mode via on card bios switch)

metro benchmark maxxed out for 5 runs hit 56C fan speed 49% (just audible at 18 inches from left ear)

Msi kombuster(furmark spin off)maxxed out 1920x1080 on burn in mode. same stroy 56c , 49% fan

I've yet to use the quiet bios profile but from what i read it lower fans by 5-8% while increasing temps by about 4C at idle and 8-12C at load

Don't forget the cards fan profiles can be tweaked using afterburner (something i've not sorted out yet) overclocked to 950 on the core using 1.22 temps icrease to around the 63-65C mark and the fan goes to about 55% which is still fairly quiet at 18 inches.

During the mini heat wave we had the card was often in the early 60's with a ambient temp of 28c.

Remember this data is all case dependant tho , altho with my side panel fan off it makes naff all difference to the cards temps

i have the sapphire and a TFIII in XFire, got both running at 6970 speeds(no extra shaders), under high load, the TFIII runs approx 10-15 degrees cooler and significantly quieter, gonna get myself a 2nd TFIII and flog the sapphire.
the dual fan is by no means a bad card, however its a lot louder than i expected.

idle temps are roughly about 10degrees difference give or take a few degrees, load temps are around 15 degrees difference.

looks good, perhaps the sapphire is running hotter due to airflow? u tried switching them around? or running them in single mode for comparison?

Airflow not an issue here, if anything it should be the TFIII that would have poorer airflow plus the heat dumped from the sapphire.
2 different cases in both positions, and always get similar results, not tryed them seperatly yet however, nor do intend to, the temp difference dosnt concern me too much.

I had 2 tf3's in crossfire, had to send one back as the top card didn't get any airflow so was quite loud having to compensate for the higher temps.
Back to one regular card and one tf3.
