Cooling device

Hi guys,

I need some sort of cooling device for my bedroom. I have a desktop computer, monitors, TV, Xbox etc. All of these devices seem to make my room ridiculously hot. I don't have all of these on at the same time but my point is that the heat is generated by devices in the room.

I'm not really sure what I need to either cool the room down or at least make it feel cooler. Would it be an air conditioner, dehumidifier, fan? The other issue is the power hungry portable air conditioners etc aren't really an option either. Is my only option a fan? Or is there anything I am missing?

Thanks! :)

open a window ?

other than that not sure exactly what you want to do, want colder room but don't want to pay electricity ??

a fan will help, put a bucket of ice behind it ?

Open Window - but that's assuming you have some kind of through flow.

Otherwise, a nice over head fan, drag the hot air up and cool the room down. Reverse it for the winter to evenly warm the room if you have central heating.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Some good suggestions to be honest. I wasn't sure if I missed any kind of alternatives that might have a much lower power consumption. Clearly there isn't from your responses!

Thanks :)

Overhead fan is about as low consumption as it gets to a small fast spinning fan + noise or a power hungry air-con.

Any less and you'll either need to feed a slave to fan you with a banana leaf or you doing it yourself.

Pretty sure that slaves need a little more to live on than banana leaves with all that work they do. :D

B&Q and Argos does a selection at your budget...

You'll need to follow the instruction, my dad replaced the bedroom light with this:

Low and Medium is quite quiet. High is a little noisy but that's obvious when you want papers to fly around. It's got a reverse trigger to draw air up instead of blowing down.

Thanks for the response! I quite like the second Blyss San Antonio fan. It also says that it is remote control adaptable. Do you know what this means? How is it adaptable?

Thanks again!! :)

No idea on remote, be best to ask in store or consult the internet. My parent's is click on at wall with the pull for light off / on, speed and reverse.
