Is a limit to how many fans you could pulling/blowing air into a case??

I was thinking of adding 2 x 120mm fans pulling cool air on the side of the case (around the Halfway up the case, CPU height) and 2 x 120 mm fans sucking out warm on the top of the case? There are three other fans inside the case including the CPU fan is this to much?

any other ideas on an ideal cooling solution?

nowhere near overkill really :P

Try adding more fans and see if your temps improve? If not, watercooling or phase change will start getting a bit overkill ;)

i remember readin a review about htis a while ago, basically some guys cut up a case and fitted about 10 fans to it, some at the front and back, a few blowholes in the top and one on the side window and i think they determined that with all them fans in numerous configurations just completly messed up the airflow inside the case and did nothing to lower temps anymore than compared to that of just a fan or 2 on the front and back that gives good airflow like the set up you've suggested

I can't remember the link but IIRC someone built a rig just using 120mm fans. Think the case had a over 50 of the buggers.

(well it wasn't really a case. just LOADS of fans hooked together)

OCuK used to sell a case called the coolercase tornado, it was a modified coolermaster that had 2 x 120mm YS Tech 125qfm fans blowing in on the side panel, an 80mm 45qfm YS Tech blowing in on the front panel, an 80mm YS Tech 45qfm blowing out of the rear panel and 2 x 120mm YS Tech 110qfm fans blowing out of the top. I wonder why they called it the tornado.

Kept your PC at ambaint temp though :D
